Bereavement

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and  women to fill our day.
But when we are certain of sorrow in store
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters I bid you beware
Of giving  your heart to a dog to tear.

Rudyard Kipling

It is an unfortunate reality that our pets do not live as long as we do. When the time comes to say goodbye we are deeply affected by the loss of not just a pet but a dear friend.

The grieving process in the loss of a loved person or pet is a cycle which can extend over a long period of time. Feelings of shock, anger, depression and acceptance are all quite normal and can be experienced for the loss of any pet.

It always helps to talk about your loss and we have posted a link here which you may find helpful.
